Welcome to MousePortal.com

MousePortal.com is (yet another) website dedicated to news and information about Walt Disney World. We try to make ourselves a bit different than the other guys — there’s nothing wrong with them, but if we weren’t any different, then there’d be no reason to come here, now would there? So we have a few different “signature” items that you don’t find in too many other places.

Our primary “signature” is that we’re a good place to start your search for quality information on the Disney Theme Parks. Here at MousePortal, we offer two different ways to search for Disney information. First, you can use our site directory to find links to more than a hundred Disney-related websites. You can either browse through the sites by category, or you can search for the sites by name or description. Either way, you’ll be taken to the site you’re looking for, and you can explore it at your leisure.

If, on the other hand, you’re looking for a specific piece of information (and don’t particularly care which site it comes from), you can try our content search. This allows you to type in a search term (”Jungle Cruise,” for instance) and get a list of articles and information posted on the 100+ sites in our directory. From the results page, you can go directly to the information you want, without having to wade through all the other content on those sites.

We also hope to establish ourselves with another “signature,” and that’s with the type of Disney articles you don’t often see elsewhere. For instance, the “Tapestry” category in our articles section takes a look at one specific theme park attraction, and follows it in all different directions, examining other attractions that had an influence on (or have been influenced by) the focus attraction. We also look at the attraction’s history, and what seemingly unrelated things may have influenced it. We also offer a series of articles focusing on the 1939-40 World’s Fair. Every Disney fan worth his salt knows the tremendous influence Disney had on the 1964-65 World’s Fair (and vice versa). But there are some interesting similarities between the 1939 World’s Fair and the current Disney theme parks. So we’ll explore that, too. We also offer the usual Disney fare, with a mish mash of news, rumors, reviews, and a little opinion here and there.

Add in a smattering of the mass media’s coverage of Disney, a unique look at the weather in Orlando, and much more, and you’ve got MousePortal.com.

Thanks for visiting. Take a look around. Make yourself at home. There’s Smart Watermelon in the fridge and Dole Whip in the freezer.
